The Garrotxa Composting Plant Is Built Very Close To Residential Areas, For This Reason It Has Systems To Prevent The Strong Odors Caused By The Leachate Treatment Process From Going Outside. One Of These Systems Is The Chemical Treatment, Consisting Of Two Towers In Which The Gases Are Washed, One Of Which Contains An Acidic Solution, With Sulfuric Acid H2So4 98% Stored In A Tank Outside The Plant. As A Result Of The Unfavorable Result Obtained In The Periodic Inspection Of The Reagent Tanks Carried Out On February 18, 2026, Carried Out By The Authorized Control Organization (Oca) Bureau Veritas, Which Is Carried Out Every Five Years In Accordance With The Regulations Applicable To The Storage Of Chemical Products, Deficiencies Were Detected That Prevent Guaranteeing Optimal Safety Conditions, Which Is Why The Regulatory Review Was Not Passed Satisfactorily. Sulfuric Acid Is A Critical Element For The Correct Operation Of The Deodorization System And If It Does Not Work Properly, It Can Cause Odorous Emissions And, As A Result, Major Impacts On The Environmental Quality Of The Environment And Coexistence With The Neighborhood, Which Is Why It Is Essential To Supply And Start Up The Sulfuric Acid Tank For The Gas Treatment System Of The Garrotxa Composting Plant, Which Is The Subject Of This Contract.
